Lectures on The Model Based Approach in Insurance Applications

December 5-7 2006, Insitute of Applied Mathematics.

Sevtap Kestel, Freiburg University

A three-day series of seminars present the introductory and advanced methods of loss modeling. The aim is to give an insight of model based approach in actuarial studies. For each topic illustrative examples from insurance area are demonstrated. Due to its content the course will contribute participants the knowledge of modeling and interpreting the financial consequences of unexpected losses resulting from insurance claims. Background in probability theory is advantegous to follow the lectures. More...
